Preparing for the Photoshoot
1. Choose a Mini Session: Young children can't handle long photoshoots. Mini sessions are perfect!
2. Prepare Your Toddlers:
   - Describe where you're going and what you'll be doing.
   - Make it exciting: "We get to get ready together!"
   - Do a trial run with outfits before the day of the shoot.
3. Pack Essentials:
   - Bring snacks and water (you already know this as a parent!).
   - Choose non-sticky snacks and bring wipes just in case.
   - Wait until the last minute to change into cute outfits (even on-site if possible).
4. Time It Right:
   - Ensure children are well-rested (good nap beforehand).
   - Meet at golden hour after at least a half dinner - don't wait until after!
During the Photoshoot
1. Introduce the Environment:
   - Let your toddler walk over and meet the photographer.
   - Show them the camera and explain what it is.
   - Give a "tour" of the new environment and event.
2. Expect to Pose at the Beginning
   - The first 15 minutes before the children get shy or interested in playing with the rocks, is most like when any posed photos will be snagged.
   - After that your best photos will be the "candid" or action shots of your family playing together
3. Manage Curiosity:
   - Don't show children photos behind the camera - it may lead to unquenchable curiosity and an inability to pose in front of the camera again
3. Focus Their Attention:
   - Direct children to where they should sit, stand, play, or cuddle with you.
   - Allow a brief moment to explore, but keep it short.
   - Be ready with your own smiles - you never know when the photographer will capture theirs!
